Zack Snyder's 'Rebel Moon' Releases A Trailer

Gamescom 2023 had an explosive opening night, featuring an exciting movie trailer amongst the gaming news. Zack Snyder debuted the first trailer for his upcoming new film, Rebel Moon Part One: A Child of Fire. While the inspiration drawn from Star Wars is evident, the film quickly sets itself apart as a brand-new sci-fi IP, taking the viewer on an adventure full of epic fights and griffin-like creatures while creating its own plot. The film will be hitting Netflix on December 22, 2023. Check the trailer out below!
Not only did this trailer premiere, but information for the second part was released as well. Subtitled The Scargiver, this film will be released a few months later on April 19, 2024, at this time. As the films are from the mind of Zack Snyder, a “Snyder cut” of both films will also eventually drop according to Snyder’s wife and co-producer.

The first film of the universe, and subsequently the first installment to the IP, being featured at an event primarily focused on gaming may seem a bit out of place, but it’s actually rather fitting. Snyder is a giant when it comes to media, and the overlap of sci-fi/fantasy fans and gamers is present. Not only that, Snyder has previously teased a video game adaptation for Rebel Moon, boasting something massive in the works. If the game is as extensive as the director is implying, it will probably be a while before more news drops.
Netflix describes A Child of Fire, “When a peaceful colony on the edge of a galaxy is threatened by a tyrannical ruling force, a mysterious stranger becomes their best hope for survival.” The film will debut exclusively on Netflix, though a limited theatrical release is rumored. More details will come as the release date approaches.
