Zack Snyder Releases Latest 'Rebel Moon' Trailer On X Ahead Of December Release
A full-length trailer has been released for Zack Snyder’s highly anticipated Rebel Moon, set to premiere in theaters December 15 before heading over to Netflix to stream on December 22, just in time for the holidays. The premise of the film is:
“After crash landing on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe, Kora (Boutella), a stranger with a mysterious past, begins a new life among a peaceful settlement of farmers. But she soon becomes their only hope for survival when the tyrannical Regent Balisarius (Fra Fee) and his cruel emissary, Admiral Noble (Ed Skrein), discover the farmers have unwittingly sold their crops to the Bloodaxes (Cleopatra Coleman and Ray Fisher), leaders of a fierce group of insurgents hunted by the Motherworld.”

Snyder was inspired by Star Wars, classic Japanese films by Akira Kurosawa, and Heavy Metal magazine. It was originally pitched as a more adult Star Wars movie to Lucasfilm, but after Lucasfilm’s sale to Disney, the premise got redeveloped by Eric Newman and Snyder for Netflix. Snyder is also known for his films Dawn of the Dead, Army of the Dead, 300, Watchmen, Man of Steel, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League.
Starring in Rebel Moon - Part I: A Child of Fire is: Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman, Jena Malone, Fra Fee, Ed Skrein, and Anthony Hopkins. Rebel Moon - Part II: The Scargiver is already set to debut on April 19, 2024.
