Bruce Glover, of James Bond fame, passed away on March 12 at the age of 92. The actor played the assassin Mr. Wint in the film Diamonds Are Forever and Duffy in Chinatown. Beyond his involvement with the spy thrillers, Glover had extensive film, television, and Broadway experience. With all his experience, he was determined to bring something unique to each role. In an interview with The Original Van Gogh’s Ear Anthology, he expressed, “I will be the unusual, and I intend to continue that whatever I am doing, whether it be acting, or I’m writing, or I am going to be painting or whatever I am going to be doing. It is uniquely my own.”
In that same interview, Glover shared his previous experiences with death, “I ran into a cow that had ran out on the side of the road. A big steer with horns coming right at my face. And I knew I was going to die, but I noticed that his mouth was slopping his tongue out. And I laughed. So even at that moment when I knew I was probably going to die, I found it funny.” He also described an incident with a rattlesnake that reached out to strike him, prompting him to notice how beautiful it was.
