Dwayne Johnson took to Twitter as well to share his condolences. “Always had tremendous respect and love for him and the Rotunda family. Loved his presence, promos, in ring work and connection with the WWE universe. Very unique, cool, and rare character, which is hard to create in our crazy world of pro wrestling.”
Rotunda came from a family of wrestlers, including his grandfather Blackjack Mulligan, his father Mike Rotunda, and his younger brother Bo Dallas. The third-generation wrestler joined WWE in 2009. First, he began his career as “Husky Harris”. After some success on the main roster of the WWE, he returned to the developmental system.
After his return to the developmental system, Rotunda came up with the character “Bray Wyatt” who was made in the image of an enigmatic cult leader who would often speak in riddles. As this character, he would go on to win three WWE world championships and two tag team titles. From 2013 to 2019 Rotunda led the WWE’s Wyatt family and would enter matches to the signature catchphrase “follow the buzzards”.
Rotunda is survived by his four children.
