'Deadpool 3' And 'Captain America: Brave New World' Get Release Date Changes

Now that the SAG-AFTRA strike is officially over, studios are resuming work on stalled and/or unfinished projects, which has also had the effect of causing changes in release dates for several films. The most noteworthy changes to date have been the release dates for the latest installment of the Deadpool series, Deadpool 3, and the latest installment of the Captain America series, Captain America: Brave New World. Specifically, Deadpool 3 will be pushed back from May 3, 2024, to Captain America: Brave New World’s July 26, 2024 slot. Captain America: Brave New World has now been rescheduled for February 14, 2025.
Deadpool 3 will feature the infamous “merc with a mouth,” Deadpool, again portrayed by Ryan Reynolds, this time joining forces with Wolverine, once again portrayed by X-Men mainstay Hugh Jackman, whose popular character was often comedically referenced in previous Deadpool films. While the plot details for Captain America: Brave New World are currently under wraps per IMDB.com, it is expected to follow up on the events of the MCU series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which saw Sam Wilson (aka Falcon) officially assume the mantle of Captain America after Chris Evan’s retired his Captain America in Avengers: Endgame. The film is expected to feature actor Harrison Ford stepping in to assume the role of Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, previously portrayed by the late William Hurt.

Ford will also be starring as Ross again in a related MCU movie, The Thunderbolts, now slated for July 25, 2025, pushed back from December 20, 2024. Marvel has also pushed its Blade reboot, featuring Mahershala Ali as the titular vampiric superhero, back to November 7, 2025. In the meantime, Ryan Reynolds has assured fans of the popular Deadpool series via a humorous post on X that Deadpool 3, the only MCU film currently slotted for 2024, will definitely be ready by next summer:
