Deadpool 3 Has Plenty Of MCU Content To Poke Fun At According To Writer

With the writers confirming that the upcoming Deadpool 3 will be an official part of the MCU, there is no shortage of beloved characters, both heroes and villains, now available for the Merc with a Mouth to tease, mock, and otherwise gleefully torture. While it wouldn't be a Deadpool movie without at least one innuendo-filled reference to Wolverine and the shining CGI steel of Colossus, others on the X-Men roster potentially have some dignity for Deadpool to step all over. The appearance of a red-faced Professor X finding himself privy to Deadpool's frequent soliloquies could well be a tempting target. Mister Sinister is a new X-Men villain that has so far eluded an onscreen appearance but made for a great opponent to Deadpool. After what could be considered a missed opportunity to bring the character to life in The New Mutants, with Deadpool and Cable already buddies I would hate to see this chance pass by as well. Moving beyond the easy and obvious choice of bringing in more mutants, we don't have too far to search far to find other Marvel favorites that are ripe to be on the receiving end of Deadpool's sharp tongue.

One star has already raised their hand to volunteer as tribute to Deadpool’s next big-screen spectacle. In a BBC Radio 1 interview with Ali Plumb, Chris Hemsworth indicated that he would be more than happy to bring Thor face-to-face with Ryan Reynalds alter ego. Of course, he freely admits that it is in part to try and dethrone Hugh Jackman as the longest-running comic book actor. While an appearance by Thor might not be free of ulterior motives, I can see how an odd friendship could develop between the two similar to the one between Thor and Rocket in Avengers: Infinity War.

Another frequent MCU crossover star that comes to mind is Benedict Cumberbatch. After his exploits with altering and traveling the multiverse, Dr. Strange is a character I would like to see share the screen with Wade Wilson. As one of the most potent characters in the MCU and with his growing understanding of the multiverse Dr. Strange is well situated to be either a potential ally or an obstacle for Deadpool. Having watched the ever-stern Dr. Strange endure Spider-Man’s irreverence on several occasions, I believe that I would love watching him play the straight man to Wade's style of funny man could be a hilarious welcome to the MCU for Deadpool.

Moving on to opportunities for sheer potential mayhem, not to mention a lot of moral grey areas to explore, Venom should not be overlooked as a potential friend and ally. With an even greater disregard for death and destruction than Deadpool, there are virtually limitless possibilities for exploring new and exciting methods of mowing through their adversaries' guards and other defenses. A solid second option for peak brutality would be the Hulk. I could imagine having a virtually unkillable friend to play with would make Hulk's big green heart melt in happiness.

For potential antagonists, the sky is the limit. However, the following are three of my favorites that have appeared online in various fan theories and articles. The first possibility is a Guardians of the Galaxy crossover featuring Id, The Selfish Moon as the main bad guy. Another possibility that has been mentioned in other articles and that could easily fit into the story as part of Deadpool's desire to be reunited with Vanessa's spirit is Lady Death. The third and final villain that could also serve to bring the Fantastic Four into the MCU further is Doctor Doom. After all, doesn't a super-human dictator make an excellent target for a "bad guy who gets paid to f*** up worse guys"?
