Star Trek: Prodigy has had a questionable future for the past few months. After season one, which ran from October 2021 to October 2022 with a mid-season break, the second season was cleared for production. However, in June 2023, just after the start of post-production on the second season, Paramount+ removed Star Trek: Prodigy completely from the streaming platform. It was originally a concern of even seeing season two, but the creators assured everyone on social media that season two would finish the post-production stages. After petitions and protests, including flying a banner over offices of streaming heads Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu this August, Netflix finally picked up Star Trek: Prodigy and we now know that we will have the complete first season available on December 25 of this year.

Hopefully, this could mean that we see Star Trek: Prodigy season two as early as spring, or maybe summer, 2024. There hasn’t been news about the stage the second season would be at right now, but we know that the final episodes are going through post-production at least. We have heard that season two will include the aliens from the USS Protostar officially joining Starfleet as well as their introduction to Robert Picardo’s Doctor from Star Trek: Voyager.
