Almost seven years since The Rise of Skywalker, there has been a theatrical drought, but that has been slowly changing. Lucasfilm recently announced a New Jedi Order film set 15 years after Return of the Jedi featuring Daisy Ridley as Rey

Not much has been announced about this film, but recently Latino Review Online has gotten word from sources that the new film is seeking the return of another Sequel Trilogy character. John Boyega’s Finn is being sought by Lucasfilm to return to the role as part of this New Jedi Order film. While nothing has been confirmed, many fans would love to see Finn return and continue his adventures as perhaps a Jedi himself in these new adventures.

The New Jedi Order film is set to release next, perhaps in May 2026 or sooner.

3. Ubisoft Seems To Be Re-Making Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag

In a strange development, a recent report by Kotaku claims to have two sources telling them that Ubisoft is currently in the early stages of remaking the 2013 fan favorite Assassin’s Creed game, Black Flag.

According to the report, a team at Ubisoft Singapore will be heavily involved in the remake. This all comes at an interesting point in time, given that Ubisoft is supposedly still developing its answer to Sea of Thieves, Skull, and Bones. The game was first announced in 2017 but began development as a possible expansion to Black Flag in 2013. It is now 2023, and the most recent update fans have received on Skull and Bones was a gameplay walkthrough nearly a year ago and then an announcement of another delay. Granted, Ubisoft is a large publisher with branches all over the world, but the decision to remake this game, with Skull and Bones still in development, and other Assassin’s Creed games in the works, is a curious one.

Regardless, if this pans out, it will be a welcome announcement when Ubisoft makes it official, as it has been one of the most requested remakes among the fan base. It is widely regarded as one of the fans’ favorites in the franchise outside of Assassin’s Creed 2

Since the report claims it’s early in development, expect this one to take some time to make it to an official announcement.

2. Ben Affleck Is Rumored To Be Returning As Daredevil

Multiversal movies have been all the rave in recent years. The new staple for comic book films has brought with it the return of numerous actors as the superheroes they once played. Marvel has done a lot to capitalize on the nostalgia of seeing the heroes of old, bringing back Andrew Garfield, Toby Maguire, and now Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in Deadpool 3. If KC Walsh is to be believed, Jackman won't be the only actor returning in Deadpool 3.

According to the insider, audiences can also expect to see Ben Affleck in the movie. They said that they have no idea who the actor will be playing, but others have been speculating the obvious answer of a Daredevil reprisal. Affleck portrayed the character in 2003's Daredevil movie and filmed a deleted scene in the spinoff film Elektra from 2005.

Affleck is not the only actor rumored for a return as Deadpool 3 is also rumored to feature the return of numerous 20th Century Fox Marvel Characters. My Time To Shine has also alleged that Channing Tatum may finally have a chance to play Gambit in the movie after his film sat in development hell for years until its ultimate cancellation. As it stands, these are all just rumors, but we'll see who returns when Deadpool 3 hits theaters on May 3rd, 2024.

1. A Possible Dune IMAX Double Feature Is Coming

Dune: Part 1 was a massive success when it came out, so Part 2 was greenlit shortly after the first movie's release. The movies are long, and a lot of things happen that not everyone will remember a few years later. A new rumor suggests, however, that there could be an IMAX event with both movies.

Most recently, fans were able to watch all the Guardians Of The Galaxy in marathon form before seeing the third and final film in the saga. This also enabled fans to see the final installment earlier. According to a Twitter user, fans could expect something similar for Dune. The double feature wouldn’t happen until November when the second part is supposed to come out, but it would be a great way for fans to remember what happened in the first movie and go right into the second one.

Dune: Part 2 was shot entirely in IMAX, so that would be the best way to see the movie, and in this case, a double feature would make sense. However, we will not know for sure if something like this will happen until we get closer to the release date, but it is something to look forward to if it is announced.

Dune: Part 2 is set to release in theaters on November 3, 2023.
