3, ’Assassin’s Creed: Red’ Rumored To Feature First Player Character That Actually Existed

At long last, Assassin’s Creed fans are getting a game set in Japan. It’s been one of the most fan-requested eras and locations throughout the franchise’s existence, and with Assassin’s Creed: Red, that wish is coming true.

According to Insider Gaming, they have talked with sources that confirm there will be two playable characters, one male and one female, and the male character will be none other than African “Samurai”, Yasuke. The female character is said to be named Naoe Fujibayashi, and according to a report earlier this year, she is trying to avenge the death of her father, who was also a real-life figure, Fujibayashi Nagato. Nagato was a famous jōnin, more widely known as a ninja.

Yasuke is a mysterious figure in Japanese history. Popular understanding claims he was an African Samurai, but that may not be an accurate description. Information on his time in Japan is fragmented and incomplete, but it is known that he was liked by Oda Nobunaga, a daimyo credited with unifying Japan in the late 1500s. It is said that Nobunaga asked for Yasuke to join him and work by his side.

2. ’Shrek 5’ Announcement

With the SAG-AFTRA strike over, Hollywood is interested in again getting things back into high gear. Actors can promote their work and the studios can begin once again making these new productions again. One rumor going out is that NBC Universal is planning on announcing a Shrek 5 and it will be released sometime in 2025.

Shrek is one of Universal's most popular franchises and has been on a hiatus for a while since the 4th movie. But with the success of the Puss n Boots series, it seems more than natural that it could soon return in a big way/

1. Filming For ‘The Mandalorian’ Season 4 Starts Soon

The Mandalorian season 3 had the perfect ending. It finally gave Din and Grogu some peace, after an eventful couple of seasons. That peace was never going to last long, however, as season 4 was announced. The filming for the new season was supposed to begin in September of this year, but due to the strikes, it was put on hold. Now that SAG-AFTRA has reached a fair deal with the studios, the start of filming for season 4 is imminent.

Shows could resume filming as early as late November or early December. Disney will focus on filming for network shows, like Grey’s Anatomy, 9-1-1, and Abbott Elementary so that means the streaming shows could be put on the back burner for a bit. Another piece of this rumor is that Pedro Pascal won’t be on set at all for season 4. While this doesn’t affect the role too much, it differs from the first two seasons, when he was in costume. This also means we probably won’t get any helmetless Din Djarin scenes either. Pascal will start filming Ridley Scott’s Gladiator 2, over the next few weeks, and The Last Of Us season 2 in Spring of 2024. The man is very busy, so it makes sense he won’t be on set.

The next Star Wars show should be The Acolyte. It will be different from the Mandoverse shows we have seen, and will be interesting to see what it entails. Hopefully The Mandalorian season 4 starts filming soon, and we don’t have to wait too much longer to see it.
