The First Trailer For The Upcoming 'Barbie' Movie Has Been Released

When a movie adaptation of the Barbie toy franchise was announced a few years ago, a lot of people raised an eyebrow at what we could possibly be in store for like are we going to get a direct adaptation of the doll and what she stands for or are we going to get some weird dark telling of the doll’s mythology.
There was a lot of back and forth on the project but over the last 6 months we have been hit with set photos and now we have a teaser trailer. While still light on plot, we get an understanding of how we are bringing Barbie, played by Margot Robbie, to the big screen.

The film is filled with a lot of retro whimsy and nods to the entire Barbie world including deep cuts. What I find interesting as well is appears that Barbie is not only staying in Barbie Land but also travelling to the “real world” and we will be getting a fish out of water vibe as Barbie and Ken head into our world for whatever reason.
The humour appears to be on point regarding the naivete of a bunch of dolls who live in a world separate from us such as the “Beach You” exchange and the fact that Barbie and Ken should be together but for reasons no one seems to know.
Come July 21 we’ll get a better understanding when the Barbie movie hits theatres and expect lots of media coverage leading up to then.
