In a surprise announcement, Aspyr Media and Lucasfilm Games announced a remake of the 2002 classic Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. The remake comes with quality-of-life features like updated graphics, and new control schemes that pair well with current generations. For example, the PS5 version will use the controller’s light bar to indicate player health and the radio communications will come through the mic for a more immersive experience.

In the original game, players found an Easter Egg in a sign that read, “Cash in all bounties to play as Boba.” Unfortunately, the original game never fulfilled this promise. Players could achieve 100% completion, and Boba Fett still wouldn’t show up. This new update will fix that. When players complete the story, they’ll unlock a Boba Fett skin to use in their next playthrough.

The game follows Jango Fett as he’s hired to hunt down a Dark Jedi. The gameplay is a mix of third-person shooter, melee, and platforming using climbing and jetpack abilities. For a surprise announcement, the game is quickly making its way to consoles. Star Wars: Bounty Hunter comes to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam on August 1. You can view the trailer below.
