The end of an era is approaching with the finale of My Hero Academia. The series creator, Kohei Horikoshi, has confirmed that the story will wrap up in five chapters in a statement on social media. The final installment will be released in the Weekly Shonen Jump on August 5, 2024. Currently, in the manga’s story, life is reaching a shaky norm as school shuffles on and the country begins to rebuild.

Horikoshi didn’t give any upcoming plot details away, but he broached the general plan (via ComicBook), "Apologies for the two-week break! My schedule piled up... There are just five chapters left until the manga's end. Some might think, 'There's still five chapters to go?!' while others may think, 'Just five chapters left?!' but I'll do my best to make sure both camps enjoy these last five chapters with Deku and the others!” The artist ended his comments with an expression of gratitude, “It was a rocky road, but I was able to draw Deku and his friends for nearly 10 years thanks to everyone who kept on reading. It was a dream. Thank you so much! Well, let's meet again in Jump!"

While you wait for the last few chapters of the manga, the anime adaptation has had some updates. Season seven premiered on Crunchyroll on May 4, 2024; there will reportedly be at least 21 episodes in total, but this could be expanded as The Final War Arc develops on the manga side. This season fully picks up during the Final Act Saga, introducing the American hero Star and Stripe, and develops into the U.A. Traitor Arc before hitting the final stretch. It aligns with chapter 329 and onward in the manga.
