New 'Transformers One' Trailer Has Been Released
Paramount Pictures released a new Transformers One trailer that dives more into the origin story of the film. The trailer opens with Chris Hemsworth’s Orion Pax narrating about a war that has lasted for thousands of years even before they become enemies. In the film’s settings, the Autobots are lowly workers and Brian Tyree Henry’s D-16 helps Orion Pax against a bully. The trailer then cuts to the core group of Autobots finding a cave with teeth where an ancient deity within gives them the power to transform and unlock their true potential. The group wants to use their newfound powers to improve the world but D-16 has different ideas. The film will show how Orion Pax and D-16 transform into Optimus Prime and Megatron.
In an interview with USA Today, Henry said, “The loss of friendship is something we all understand, and the idea of friendship is something we can all cherish.” Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura praised the film, “The origin story is incredibly rich and something we thought about for a very long time.” Josh Cooley, the film’s director, claimed he received a “Tolkien-length history” but preferred to focus on “the feeling of what it was like to play with the toys as a kid: nostalgia and joy.” Transformers One will come to theaters on September 20, 2024.
