Disney Releases New Trailer For Upcoming 'Percy Jackson' Show
Disney+ has released the new trailer for the upcoming Percy Jackson series and shared it on the company’s official X page with the caption, “A quest is always undertaken by three.” The trailer opens with Percy and his mother at The Met, learning of his namesake from Greek mythology, Perseus. His mom makes the distinction clear that he was named after him for his bravery and kindness as opposed to focusing on his “hero” status. After a few fast-foreshadowing scenes, the focus resumes on Percy and his friend, Grover.
Suddenly, a black Pegasus appears on the rooftop of a building. The principal of his school hands Percy a pen and tells him that he is special while speaking of “the gods.” His mother confesses that the stories she’s told him of the Greek gods and monsters are true. The trailer adds text at this juncture to remind audiences that the show is based on the best-selling book series by Rick Riordan. Percy learns that his father is one of the gods. The next scene shows the school grounds of the demigods.
