Animated Series 'Scavenger's Reign' Lands On Netflix

“The crew of Demeter 227 is stranded on a distant planet teeming with fantastic and deadly alien life. Can they make it back home?” This is the synopsis for the animated series Scavenger’s Reign, which launched on Netflix on May 31. Originally launching on Max, the show was picked up after its sudden cancellation, and their new home is considering the possibility of a second season, based on how many people watch the first season. Production company Titmouse Inc has had a multiyear deal with the streaming giant, which is likely how they were able to get on the platform.

Scavenger’s Reign stars Sunita Mani, Wunmi Mosaku, Alia Shawkat, Bob Stephenson, and Ted Travelstead. Each cast member is paired up into 3 teams of two, with various other guest characters along for the ride. Season one lasted 12 episodes from October 19 to November 9 on Max. Given the launch on Netflix, it is certain that most if not all the episodes are already available. In this world of streaming, things are constantly shifting and nothing seems to be certain. Will Scavenger’s Reign get a second season, or is it a one-and-done deal? Only time will tell us, and we have plenty of it.
