This year’s New York Comic Con was full of exciting news, reveals, and interviews. The second season of Andor was brought up, specifically the inclusion of a fan-favorite character. The droid K-2SO’s first on-screen appearance was in the 2016 film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and his fiery attitude quickly garnered attention.  Alan Tudyk was the voice of this droid. In an interview with Collider’s Maggie Lovitt, Tudyk spoke about the upcoming return of the snarky droid.

While the actor can’t disclose many details, he confirmed, “Yeah, I’m gonna be in it. I can't tell you how much, so I still have secrets and I can't say anything about it, but it was fun to be back with Diego Luna.” Tudyk continued, commenting on the skill of the series’ showrunner and how K-2SO will meld into the tone of the show, “Tony Gilroy is a very skilled writer. He's a big-brained guy. It’ll be interesting for people to see K-2SO in that world because he was such a smartass, and there was a lot of humor around his being there.” The actor wrapped up his comments by leaning more into the character’s place with the show’s tone, “That will be a fresh… I don't know. We’ll see! Let’s just watch it.”
