An obscure Star Wars species from an oft-forgotten film will appear in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

David Lowery, who will be directing an episode of the upcoming Disney+ Star Wars show, revealed that the Teek from Ewoks: The Battle for Endor will be appearing in the series while he was speaking with Empire at a roundtable interview of the show’s directors. Discussing their return, Lowery praised the presence of practical puppetry on the show’s set, specifically speaking to the slight dissonance of seeing a practical effects creature surrounded by the digital technology of The Volume. The Teek will likely appear in Lowery’s episode as he summed up his installment of the show with the word “puppets” and will perhaps be Teek himself, the name given to the Teek in The Battle for Endor.

But this strange inclusion is hardly surprising given the past several years of Star Wars media. While Caravan of Courage and The Battle for Endor are part of Legends continuity alongside the Ewoks TV cartoon, the lore established in those films and the show has been repeatedly referenced in numerous modern Star Wars works. The Teeks have already appeared as brief mentions in a few canon books, and, most recently, the Ewoks (2024) comic series from Marvel that began releasing a few weeks ago prominently featured another native species to the Forest Moon, the Dulok. It is no surprise that some of this content is returning to the screen where it originated.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew begins streaming on Disney+ on December 3rd with a two-part season premiere.
