It was about the titular character haunting the new inhabitants of a house to stop them from irking the spirits of the recently deceased couple who previously lived there. A cult classic, it made over $74 million at the box office. The sequel has a script being worked on by Jenna Ortega Mike Alfred Gough, Miles Millar, Seth Grahame-Smith, and David Katzenberg. Katzenberg and Grahame-Smith also have producing roles. The idea of a sequel started being spoken of in 2013, according to Keaton and Burton.
