As the fairy lights dim on the first season of The Santa Clauses, Disney has announced they are renewing it for a second.

This season, the sequel series to The Santa Clause trilogy of films starring Tim Allen explored the fact that Scott Calvin can’t be Santa Claus forever, especially as he seems to be losing his Christmas magic. So it’s up to him to find a successor while also preparing his family to move back to regular life.

President of Disney Branded Television, Ayo Davis, shared some words on the renewal.

“This franchise has had a lasting impact for so many families, truly becoming part of their annual holiday traditions. Bringing it back as a series has been a true gift, and I’m grateful to our producing partners at 20th Television and, of course, Tim Allen and team, that we have yet another reason to celebrate this holiday season.”

Tim Allen has been in the role of Scott Calvin since 1994’s The Santa Clause, with Elizabeth Mitchell portraying his wife Carol since 2002’s The Santa Clause 2. Both were joined by Austin Kane and Elizabeth Allen-Dick as the youngest son and daughter of the couple. While it is unknown whether the two kids will return, Allen and Mitchell are confirmed cast members for the coming second season.

Season one of The Santa Clauses is available on Disney+, along with the trilogy of The Santa Clause films.
