Fans of the popular tabletop game Dungeons & Dragons will have a new way to play. The first collaboration between Dungeons & Dragons began in January, with the first set on the docket to arrive next month, just in time to celebrate its 50th anniversary! The set will be available to LEGO Insiders for preorder on April 1 and the general population on April 4. Customers who order before April 7 will also receive a Dungeons & Dragons Mimic Dice Box set complimentary. The concept originated as a design idea by Lucas Bolt through the LEGO Ideas program.

The set is 3,745 pieces and comes with six mini figures – an Orc Rogue, a Gnome Fighter, an Elf Wizard, a Dwarf Cleric, a Dragonborn Bard, and a Human Thief. These mini figures will likely be available for purchase separately by the Fall. The set includes buildable monsters, three skeletons, a Beholder, an Owlbear, a Displacer Beast, a Mimic, a Gelatinous Cube, and a pair of Myconid Sprouts. The most exciting addition to the set is a huge Cinderhowl Red Dragon perched on the fortress wall. Features include a riverside inn next to the ancient fortress with a watchtower and dungeon.

A one-shot adventure is also available for LEGO Insiders as a free digital download. Another option for LEGO Insiders is a limited-run paperback for 2,700 Insider points. Play extends outside the box as an adventure; character sheets, digital dice, and more are available on D&D Beyond. The set is officially called Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale and will be available for preorder on April 1 for LEGO Insiders and April 4 for everyone else. It will cost $359.99.
