Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the show was packed full of many jokes, celebrities, and of course winners. The biggest film of the night, however, was the A24 film, Everything Everywhere All at Once. It was nominated for 11 Oscars and won 7 of them, becoming the most awarded Best Picture winner since 2008’s Slumdog Millionaire.
In addition to the biggest award of the night, Best Picture, the film garnered various acting awards such as Best Supporting Actor (Ke Huy Quan), Best Supporting Actress (Jamie Lee Curtis), and Best Actress (Michelle Yeoh). Directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert (known collectively as the Daniels) won Best Director, beating out Steven Spielberg. It also won Best Film Editing, and Best Original Screenplay.
