Jordan’s about to be a bit more twinny with brother Jonathan (probably) and the name irony is officially over. Superman & Lois has officially recast Jonathan Kent following the departure of Jordan Elsass last month.

Michael Bishop is now that Kent twin. His most notable role had been Max in the Disney Channel Original Movie Spin, which premiered in August 2021, but the Australian actor is otherwise a newcomer to show business. What awaits him as Jordan in Superman & Lois’s third season? Well, access to the Fortress of Solitude now extends to the whole family, for starters. Showrunner Todd Helbing also teased, when asked after the second season finale, the possibility of Jordan getting his own suit or even an exosuit like Natalie Irons (played by Tayler Buck). Whatever happens, he’s going to be more involved in superhero activities.

As for Elsass, he did ultimately put out a statement on August 22, through a fan-requested Cameo of all places. He does claim it was for mental health reasons, with his timeline of the toll dating back to the early pandemic, and that he needs time for himself. He even expressed uncertainty about whether he’d be acting again, at least for a while. It doesn’t quite dispel the suspicion that it’s more about his vaccination status, but it is what it is.

Superman and Lois also stars Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman, Bitsie Tulloch as Lois Lane, Alex Garfin as Jordan Kent, Dylan Walsh as Gen. Sam Lane, Emmanuelle Chriqui as Lana Lang-Cushing, Wolé Parks as John Henry Irons, Inde Navarrette as Lana’s daughter Sarah Cushing, Erik Valdez as Lana’s husband Kyle Cushing and Sofia Hasmik as Chrissy Beppo, a journalist of the Smallville Gazette. As seen above, Garfin is very welcoming of his new onscreen brother. Still yet to be on a fall schedule, the show’s third season will premiere midseason, in early 2023.
