'Superman: Legacy' Has Found It's Jimmy Olsen and Eve Teschmacher

James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy is a highly-anticipated upcoming cinematic installment to the DCU reboot. Production has been moving along and the cast list has been steadily filling out as of late. Two key characters were recently cast for the film! Joining the team are Sara Sampaio as Eva Teschmacher and Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen.

Sampaio has been involved in the acting industry since 2016, landing her first TV role in 2017. The actress is best known for Carga (2018), The Clapper (2017), and Sombra - uma mãe sabe (2022). She has also been a model for Victoria’s Secret since 2015. Her character, Eva Teschmacher, is the personal assistant to Lex Luthor; their relationship has turned romantic in past iterations as well.

Why The DCEU Failed

Gisondo has been in the acting industry for two decades. He is best known for a recurring voice role in the Air Bud franchise, Vacation (2015), and The Social Dilemma (2020). His character, Jimmy Olsen, is a good friend of Clark Kent and Lois Lane and their coworker at the Daily Planet. Whether this iteration of the character knows Clark is Superman or not remains to be seen.

Many key cast members have been announced. Some of them include David Corenswet as Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, DC television-seasoned actor Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and María Gabriela de Faría as Angela Spica.

Superman: Legacy is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 11, 2025. Details for the film are being kept tightly under wraps; the general description is that it will follow Clark Kent “as he reconciles his heritage with his human upbringing,” being the “embodiment of truth, justice and the American way in a world that views kindness as old-fashioned” according to IMDb. It will be the first film installment to the DCU reboot storyline Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, and the third installment overall.
