Jenna Ortega Will Not Be Returning For 'Scream 7'
Jenna Ortega is one of the hottest properties in horror after her runaway success as Wednesday Adams. Jenny Ortega has been a staple in the Scream franchise, with two movies already in the can, Scream (2022) and Scream VI (2023). Ortega had also signed on for Scream VII, but the slasher flick is in big trouble.
The drama started when Melissa Barrera (In the Heights, 2021) posted in support of Palestine on her social media. She was fired by the studio the day before Ortega’s exit. The scream queen states that it was a clash with the filming of the second season of Wednesday, and not the conflict with Spyglass and Barrera that triggered her departure.

There are few big box-office draws in the industry at the moment, so Ortega will be difficult to top. Spyglass may regret not being flexible enough to allow Jenna Ortega to fulfill her other commitments. It might have saved them money in the long run.
