'Supergirl' Actress Nicole Maines Ventures Into Comic Book Writing
Nicole Maines, from The CW’s Supergirl series, is writing a new Suicide Squad series for DC Comics in her debut as a comic book writer. Her character from the show, Nia Nal (a.k.a Dreamer), will be a part of the lineup.
Suicide Squad: Dream Team picks up from the Beast World crossover, with Amanda Waller creating a new iteration of Task Force X centered around Dreamer’s precognitive abilities, with Harley Quinn, Black Alice, Bizarro, Clock King, and Deadeye rounding out the squad. Other members of the creative team include artist Eddy Barrows and inker Eber Ferreira.

Maines had this to say about her work: “I’m really excited to be working with Eddy and Eber to bring Dreamer into this pivotal time in the DC Universe. This is a very different space from what she’s used to, and where we’re used to seeing her; dealing with Amanda Waller and this new Suicide Squad is going to force her to decide what kind of hero she wants to be, and what she is willing to sacrifice to save the future.”
The first issue of Suicide Squad: Dream Team will be released on March 12, 2024, both in print and digitally. More news will be coming in the future.
