‘Star Wars’: Sigourney Weaver in Talks to Join ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’
In a bit of news that one might correctly classify as “a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one”, it has been reported that veteran actress Sigourney Weaver is currently in talks with Lucasfilm to join the cast of the upcoming Star Wars film, The Mandalorian & Grogu. Weaver initially became famous for her role in Alien (1979) and three of its sequels, as well as other science fiction & fantasy franchises such as Ghostbusters (1984-present) and, more recently, Avatar (2009-present).
The Mandalorian & Grogu was previously announced as the first Star Wars film since The Rise of Skywalker (2019). The film is expected to be released in 2026, followed by a post-Rise of Skywalker film featuring Rey as well as a film set in the distant past, exploring the origins of the Jedi and their discovery of the Force.
