With just a few weeks before the premiere of Andor Season 2, we felt it was a good time to refresh readers about the worlds that appeared on screen for Season 1. We might even see some of the less obvious worlds make a return in Season 2, so let’s dive into this refresher!

Morlana One

Located in the Morlana star system in the Free Trade Sector, Morlana One is the home of Preox-Morlana, a company with varied corporate interests which has existed for over a century by the time of Andor. The world has a major settlement divided between the urban sprawl and work areas of the Corporate Zone that also holds the company’s headquarters, and the less-upstanding Leisure Zones where thrills and deals can be made in the dark.

RELATED:

Cassian Andor traveled to a Leisure Zone to try and find information on his sister, but ended up killing two Preox-Morlana employees who violently harassed him. This brings the attention of Deputy Inspector Syril Karn, whose unwavering pursuit of Cassian allows the Empire to use the failure of his mission as an excuse to seize power from Preox-Morlana. It is likely that Morlana One remained under direct Imperial control for many years after this event.

Ferrix

Located in the same star system as Morlana One, Ferrix has a far different focus than glossy corporate structures or seedy entertainment districts. It is a world of salvage yards which has existed for over two centuries by the time of Andor. The planet is arid, dotted with dense pockets of life where ships and other mechanical devices are scraped by the talented workers of Ferrix or used to repair what ships might fetch some money. The Andors made their home here, and brought Cassian back to the world from Kenari, where he would learn Basic and make connections with figures like Brasso and Bix.

However, Cassian’s father was killed by the Empire when they made a show of strength on the world, and he had issues with the authorities over the following years. Ferrix falls under the same tighter controls as Morlana One after Syril Karn’s bungled operation, but eventually a riot breaks out when Cassian’s mother Maarva delivers a post-mortem condemnation of the Empire. Ferrix’ future from this point is uncertain, but we think there’s a good chance it will appear in Andor Season 2 to show just how much has changed since the first sparks of rebellion were kindled there.

Kenari

A jungle world rich in natural resources located in the Perkell sector of the Mid Rim, Kenari was apparently despoiled by the Republic before they abandoned the world, declaring it off limits. It might also be that they committed a terrible atrocity there, seeing as there appear to only be children living in rough conditions in the world’s jungles. Cassian, then known as Kassa, and his sister Kerri, are among these children, with a mysterious crash of a ship triggering an expedition by some of the kids. Crewed by people wearing CIS patches, the children of Kenari suffer a loss and retreat, though Kassa ignores them to push on ahead.

He finds Maarva and Clem Andor, alongside B2EMO, with Maarva knocking Kassa unconscious claiming the Republic would soon arrive and deal with the situation harshly. She then takes him offworld to avoid that fate, though we later learn the Empire apparently mined the planet with a mining disaster causing it to once again be declared off limits. With the mysteries of Kenari, both its mining accidents and the ship crash, being some of the lingering questions Season 2 of Andor will hopefully answer, we certainly hope to see this world again.

Coruscant

What needs to be said about Coruscant? Located in the Corusca sector, this Core World is the center of the galaxy from which countless iterations of the Republic span for millennia. It is now the center of the Galactic Empire, and in the world of Andor, holds the homes and operations of four key people. One is Mon Mothma and the Chandrilan Embassy, where she hosts parties and tries to convince her colleagues to vote against Palpatine’s increasingly harsh proposals in the Senate. Another is Luthen Rael’s shop, Galactic Antiques and Objects of Interest, staffed by himself and Kleya Marki. Catering to the wealthy and elite of Coruscant with objects brought in from across the galaxy, the shop is also Luthen’s base of operations for meeting with figures like Mon Mothma and using a hidden radio to detect covert messages sent across his network of agents. Next there is the humble Karn household, located on Level 91. Home to Eedy and Syril Karn, it is where Syril retreats to after his firing from the Morlana security forces and where he lives while working at the Bureau of Standards. Finally, there is Supervisor Dedra Meero and ISB Headquarters, which work to counter Luthen’s operations and pursue Cassian Andor.

Aldhani

Aldhani is located in the Cademimu sector of the Outer Rim, and is an invigorating, natural world filled with humbling landscapes. Great mountains, valleys and rivers crisscross the planet, with a unique phenomenon illuminating the night sky with celestial light every three years. However, the planet is also notable for its position as the Imperial hub of the wider sector. The Imperial presence has gradually grown, with the native human culture known as the Dhani forced off their traditional lands and largely confined to urban dwellings in the Lowlands of the planet.

The Imperial presence, centered on a dam they built, houses a number of facilities, including storage for the sector’s payroll of its Imperial employees. Vel Sartha, Cinta Kaz and other proto-Rebels of the Axis cell prepare for a heist with Cassian Andor added at the last minute. The heist ultimately goes awry, several members dying in the ensuing firefight, with few left to enjoy the promised reward or movement they have helped invigorate. It is almost certain Aldhani was locked down tight after this heist, though its true fate remains unclear.

Frezno

Also located in the Cademimu sector, Frezno is quite literally the farmer’s barn for stitching up the outlaws enlarged into a whole world. Frezno is covered in grasses and is lightly populated. It is home to Doctor Quadpaw, who tries to save Karis Nemik though sadly fails. Upon realizing that Arvel Skeen intends to ditch the team, perhaps murderously, with the money, Cassian shoots his fellow heistmate, and takes his fair share of the money before leaving with Nemik’s manifesto, willed to him by the dying young man.

Niamos

Located in the Vorzyd sector of the Outer Rim, Niamos is a tropical world with resorts, hostels, and tourists aplenty. It is also, initially, a world free of notable Imperial influence, though this does not last. After Aldhani, after the expansion of Imperial powers in matters of law and justice, a crackdown begins across many worlds, including Niamos. Cassian finds himself randomly detained and blamed for crimes he didn’t commit, being sentenced to years in prison for his actions. We don’t imagine Niamos will appear again, but its role as a place for criminals to lay low might come in handy in the future.

Narkina 5

Located in the Narkina system in the Abrion sector of the Outer Rim, Narkina 5 is a world of vast lakes and rocky terrain. It seems to have once been a prime fishing location for offworlders, but the construction of vast Imperial prison complexes has resulted in disruptions to the local ecosystem. One of these prison complexes received Cassian Andor after his arrest and sentencing on Niamos. After several months of incarceration, Cassian successfully organized a complete liberation of his prison complex, giving hundreds of prisoners the chance at freedom even if some have to unfortunately remain behind due to a lack of swimming skills. Cassian and fellow prisoner Melshi soon escaped offworld thanks to the aid of two anti-Imperial fishermen, and we think it unlikely we’ll see a return to the world in Season 2.

Segra-Milo

Segra-Milo (also spelled Segra Milo) is in the Jospro sector of the Outer Rim, and during the time of Andor Season 1, was the site of Saw Gerrera’s main hideout with his Partisans. A rocky, cold planet with caverns Saw made good use of, the presence of the Partisans and a pre-existing pirate problem led the Empire to begin increasing their patrols around the world. One of these patrols intercepted Luthen Rael and his customized Fondor haulcraft, though Luthen was able to successfully engage his countermeasures and flee, leaving destroyed TIEs in his wake and an Imperial cruiser without a tractor beam. Saw has seemingly changed his base of operations by the time of Andor Season 2, so dreary Segra-Milo is likely in the rearview mirror.

Other Worlds Mentioned

A handful of notable worlds get mentioned throughout Andor Season 1, and we’ve catalogued a few here as teases about the wider galaxy!

  • Mimban: A world of jungles and natural vistas, Mimban was harshly transformed by war and the Empire into a slurry of mud and smoke-filled skies. Cassian served on Mimban in a support role as a cook and while Cassian was unlikely to have been in the direct line of fire, the world was surely no picnic to be deployed to.

  • Chandrila: The homeworld of Mon Mothma’s family, Chandrila is a planet of rich traditions some might consider stifling. We know very little about the planet at this time, but it seems its political class has made a home for itself on Coruscant with figures like Davos Sculdun being prominent and resourceful. We are almost certainly visiting Chandrila in Andor Season 2.

  • Alderaan: Alderaan is a world of beautiful cities and natural landscapes with many benevolent inhabitants. During this era, a young Leia Organa is likely preparing to perform her Day of Demand. Meanwhile, Bail and Breha Organa work to aid various rebel groups across the galaxy. While Alderaan appearing in Season 2 is unlikely, we hope Bail or Breha will make an appearance.

  • Ghorman: This planet of great concern to Mon Mothma in Season 1 is 100% appearing in Season 2. Multiple shots are confirmed to be set on Ghorman, and the critical Ghorman Massacre is going to be a lynchpin of the entire season. Andor will have the opportunity to create the planet from scratch as nothing about its people or culture currently exists in canon.
