As celebrities keep dying at large numbers, we’ve lost someone who rarely gets mentioned, but who had a very distinct impact on the film industry has now passed on. Robert Watts, who had a producer role in the two trilogies that brought George Lucas and Harrison Ford into legendary status: The Original Star Wars trilogy, and the Indiana Jones trilogy passed away in his sleep Monday night at the age of 88. He also worked on Who Framed Roger Rabbit, An American Tail: Fievel Goes West, Alive, Alive: 20 Years Later, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Inspector Clouseau, Papillon and Sky Raiders. He had an uncredited role in Return of The Jedi, as an AT-ST driver on Endor.

“We have sadly lost another great one, Robert Watts,” said Frank Marshall. “He was loved by all who worked with him, and I learned a lot from his vast knowledge, wonderful spirit and sense of humor. Sail on, dear friend, sail on.” His Rep Julian Owen said, “Goodnight to my wonderful friend and client Robert Watts, Producer of some of the most famous films in cinema history. …  Talking about his career was his favourite thing to do. We had some amazing adventures together which I will cherish forever.”
