'Pokémon' Theme Park Is Opening In Japan
A new Pokémon experience has been announced called PokéPark Kanto! This new attraction is being built within the Yomiuriland amusement park in Inagi, Japan. Details are light on what this attraction will bring to the park, but it is likely to be greater than the previous collaboration between Yomiuriland and The Pokémon Company.
The Google-translated statement of the original reads, “Pokémon fans from all over the world will gather in this place rich in nature, feel Pokémon, and create a space that can be enjoyed together beyond the walls of countries, regions and languages. Please look forward to the follow-up news.”

Kanto is a special place for Pokémon, as it is the region that kickstarted the franchise with the release of Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green (Pokémon Blue outside of Japan). Based on the real Kanto region of Japan, players travelled the region to collect eight Gym badges to take on the Elite Four. While details on the park are light, it would be interesting if the PokéPark Kanto attraction utilised the game’s formula in some way.
The formula from the original games has continued with each successive generation of Pokémon, with newer regions leaving the confines of Japan for the likes of France and Spain. Filings from Nintendo Europe for the trademarks of PokéPark Kalos and PokéPark Paldea indicate possible Pokémon experiences outside of Japan in the future.
