After the cliffhanger ending of Saw X and, most importantly, the critical and commercial success of the film, the fact that there would be an eleventh film was a foregone conclusion. With a box office ten times its production budget and an 80% approval rate on Rotten Tomatoes, the highest in the series by a wide margin, it would be clear that there would be another film in the series even without the cliffhanger ending. And now we have confirmation.

We have our official announcement of the return of Jigsaw. On September 27th, 2024, we’ll see the return of John Kramer and his games. We don’t have any details as of yet, but, likely, this next film will also take place between Saw and Saw II. John Kramer himself has been dead since Saw III, and there are only so many ways that you can shoehorn him into the series. Plus, the ending of Saw X didn’t resolve completely, leaving plenty of room for more games.

Only time will tell if Saw XI is as successful as the last film. If it is, we might have Saw XII in September 2025. It wouldn’t be surprising if we get Saw movies until Tobin Bell, the heart and soul of the franchise, can’t do them anymore.
