For over 40 years, the Alien franchise has grown and expanded beyond the film that started it all back in 1979. That will continue with the newest release set to come out in a couple of weeks with Alien: Romulus.

Romulus harkens back to the roots of the franchise, partly because the new film is being produced by the original film’s director, Ridley Scott. He’s had quite the hand in the franchise’s development lately with Prometheus and Covenant. This new entry just released a new trailer alongside some new posters ahead of the premiere.

The posters are all promoted by various film outlets, theater chains, and purchasing sites like Fandango, AMC, and more. The IMAX poster blends the xenomorph’s skull with the curve of the planet that the derelict space station where the movie takes place floats over. The AMC poster seems to take a cue from the latest trend in posters with a kind of variation on the central figure with the rest of the crew radiating or merging around it, all facing left or right.

They’re artistic to be sure, particularly the 4DX poster that has the xenomorph’s iconic spiney tail snake around a space helmet, piercing it. There’s also the iconic Facehugger in another poster for Dolby, surrounding a helmet with a hole in it.

The trailers have certainly been terrifying, recapturing the fear and terror of the original film for a new audience.

Alien: Romulus releases August 16th nationwide.
