'Prison Architect 2' Game Has Been Delayed Indefinitely
Paradox Interactive is continuing its walk on rocky ground, with Prison Architect 2 being indefinitely delayed just months after the cancellation of Life by You. The sequel to the 2012 original, which brings the visuals into 3D, was announced at the start of 2024 with a release date that has seen a few delays.
Having bought the rights to the prison building and management game in 2019, development of the sequel started at Double Eleven before swapping to Kokku in 2024. Since its announcement in January 2024, Prison Architect 2 has seen a lot of developer blogs showing various features of the game. Even so, there have been performance issues that have led to this indefinite delay.

This is a story familiar to those who were following the development of Life by You. Perhaps knowing that speculation would rise of Prison Architect 2 following a similar path, Paradox Interactive made clear in the Q&A section of its article that the game is not cancelled. However, owing to the indefinite delay, Paradox is refunding all pre-orders on all platforms where the game will be released.
Paradox Interactive has seen many falls in recent times. In November 2023, the expansion content for Cities: Skylines 2 was put on hold owing to the poor state of its release. Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 also faced cancellation after numerous delays and a swap in developer, something that Prison Architect 2 has also faced.
