Mercedes Mone To Present At the Crunchyroll Anime Awards

Wrestling superstar Mercedes Mone will be presenting at this year’s Crunchyroll Awards. She will be among a host of entertainers taking part in the pre-show before the announcements begin. Mercedes Mone, aka Sasha Banks, real name Mercedes Varnado, is currently signed to New Japan Pro Wrestling and is a huge Sailor Moon fan. Although it is rumored she may be off to the AEW soon.
Crunchyroll’s eighth annual awards will be hosted by Jon Kabira (Doris from Shrek 2) and Sally Amaki (Overwatch 2). Nominations for the Anime of the Year include Bocchi The Rock, Chainsaw Man, Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc) Jujutsu Kaisen, Oshi No Ko, and Vinland Saga. There are twenty-four prizes up for grabs including three new categories, Best Cinematography, Best Slice of Life, and Best Art Director.

This year, it looks to be a fight between Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man, and Demon Slayer for the top spot. However, Attack on Titan, which is nominated in Best Continuing Series and many of the performance categories could also clean up for its climatic final season.
Tune in on March 2nd, 2024 via Twitch and YouTube. Crunchyroll’s entire ceremony will be streamed live from Tokyo Japan, but it will also be posted onto Amazon Freevee after the event has ended.
