Lifetime Achievement Award For Carol Burnett At The 2024 Gracie Awards
One of the most established names in entertainment continues to pick up accolades. Carol Burnett, was the first woman to host a Variety Show on TV. On May 21, 2024, she will be a Lifetime Achievement award at the Gracie Awards by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) for her work in the industry.
For those unfamiliar, the Gracie Awards are awarded to the women whose work honors the legacy of Gracie Allen. Becky Brook, president of the AWMF made a statement about Carol. “Carol Burnett is a true icon of television and entertainment, whose impact spans decades and resonates with audiences of all ages. Her groundbreaking work on The Carol Burnett Show set a standard for excellence in comedy and storytelling.”

Burnett, who started her career in the 50’s, won her seventh Emmy earlier this year for work on Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love. Another recent one of her works to be made is Palm Royal, where she worked alongside Kristin Wiig, Allison Janney, Laura Dern, Ricky Martin, and Josh Lucas. In 1985, she was inducted into the TV Hall of Fame, becoming only the second woman to do so, after only her friend and colleague Lucille Ball.
The AWMF is designed to create education and charities around women in the media.
