LEGO Reveals New 'Lord Of The Rings' Sets To Release Next Month
Fresh on the heels of the season two trailer reveal for The Rings of Power, LEGO saw fit to finally reveal (it was leaked before) their next Lord of the Rings set, and it’s a big one.
Following last year’s release of the Rivendell and the Council of Elrond set, LEGO is releasing a contrasting set to that this June with the release of the tower of Barad-Dûr.
It’s a massive set, coming in at $459 and nearly 5,500 pieces. When complete, the Dark Tower will stand nearly 3 feet tall, complete with a rotating and glowing Eye of Sauron at the top. It’s an imposing set, starkly contrasted against the natural and majestic beauty of the Rivendell set from last year. The Barad-Dûr set is also modular, making it easier to move, and interestingly enough, it also allows for fans with deeper pockets who buy more than one set to stack the tower even higher. Within the fortress’s modular sections, fans will find a throne room for Sauron, the room for the Mouth of Sauron, a dungeon with a skeleton in a gibbet, as well as a mess hall and forge.

The set comes with an assortment of minifigures. Outside the handful of orcs that come with it, fans will also be treated to a Gollum, Frodo, Sam, Sauron, The Mouth of Sauron, and Gothmog minifigures. Frodo of course comes with the ring, and Sam has Frodo’s gift from Galadriel, the Phial of the Light of Eärendil. In addition, when you purchase the set, it will come with a small gift set in the form of a Fellbeast and its Nazgul rider.
Barad-Dûr releases June 1st.
