'Knives Out 3' Is Now Titled 'Wake Up Dead Man' And Has A Release Date
New information has been released surrounding Rian Johnson’s third installment to the Knives Out Mystery universe. The third movie will be called Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. This title is more intense than the last, still leaving room for wordplay, on-screen titular references, and puns while setting up a vibe for the new mystery. It is aiming to be released on Netflix globally in the 2025 window.
Johnson leveraged social media to tease the announcement. In one post on X, the writer/director confirmed the state of development for the upcoming film, “We’re about to go into production on the 3rd one, and I’m very, very excited to share the title, which gives a little hint of where it’s going.” Later, he posted a short teaser trailer. The clip walks through the previous two films, playing on their titles to narrate Detective Benoit Blanc’s career before reaching the latest installment, touting it as “[his] most dangerous case yet.”
