Amazon Prime Video has made an exciting announcement about a new addition to its lineup: Pop Culture Jeopardy! This innovative spin-off of the beloved game show series Jeopardy! aims to capture the attention of trivia enthusiasts with a focus on pop culture.

Lauren Anderson, head of AVOD Originals, Unscripted, and Targeted Programming at Amazon MGM Studios, shared her enthusiasm for the new show. "Pop Culture Jeopardy! is its own cultural moment, marking the first time the iconic franchise will premiere exclusively on a streaming service," she said. Anderson highlighted the team-based approach and the pop culture focus, emphasizing that Amazon Prime Video subscribers worldwide will get an exclusive chance to enjoy this fresh take on Jeopardy! and test their knowledge on a range of contemporary and timeless topics.

The show will be executive produced by Michael Davies, though a host for the series has yet to be announced. This new venture follows in the footsteps of the previous Jeopardy! spin-offs, such as Sports Jeopardy! on the Crackle streaming service and Rock & Roll Jeopardy!, which aired on VH1 from 1998 to 2001.

Jeopardy! first aired in 1964 and has been a staple in syndicated television since 1984, gaining a massive following over the decades. With Pop Culture Jeopardy!, Amazon Prime Video hopes to bring the same level of excitement and engagement to a new generation of viewers, blending nostalgia with the dynamic world of pop culture trivia.

Amazon Prime Video did not announce a release date.
