Ideas Already In Place For Second Season Of 'Skeleton Crew'
With the first two episodes of the new Star Wars show, Skeleton Crew, now on Disney+, fans have taken an interest. One thing that stood out about this show is the fact that it's the first scripted live-action show in the series to feature primarily a cast of children. However, unlike adult actors who can play someone who looks the same age for a while, with child actors, you don’t have that luxury, which brings up an awkward question to ask when it comes to a possible second season of the show, if it can no longer appeal to the same age group as before. This, combined with the recent cancellation of The Acolyte, might indicate a lack of a second season of Skeleton Crew. Jon Watts and Christopher Ford explained that they have plans to overcome this barrier.
“We 100% have an idea for a second season and know what we would do. [...] We have a built-in ticking clock of the kids and their age, and by the time we would get production going, we know what age they would be. So, we would be writing towards that. You’ll be growing up with the kids . [...] It would be something like [a three to four-year time jump] to make sense. We haven’t seen the kids in a while, so it just depends on how tall the kids are. But we wouldn’t do like a Stranger Things thing where we’re like ‘It’s the next day,’ because it won’t be. ”
Currently, Jude Law plays a force user named Jod Na Nawood, who acts as the guardian of children played by Robert Timothy Smith, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Kyriana Kratter, and Ravi Cabot-Conyers. The first two episodes are already on Disney+, with more episodes coming every Tuesday until the finale on January 14th.
