It’s no joke that Harrison Ford is showing his age, being on the far end of his 70s. That doesn’t seem to stop the actor though, as every time a new film with him is announced, there’s a newspaper article about him being injured in some sort of stunt. It’s admirable to see him not backing down from the limits of age.

However, there won’t be any lines making light of the fact in the new Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny film coming this June. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Harrison Ford explained that there were numerous jokes about the character’s age, but they had all been taken out. It wasn’t necessarily at the behest of the actor for any sort of sensitivity about them, but rather that they would take the viewer out of the movie. “…I hate what I call 'talking about the story.' I want to see circumstances in which the audience gets a chance to experience the story, not to be led through the nose with highlights pointed out to them. I'd rather create behavior that is the joke of age rather than talk about it,” Ford told The Hollywood Reporter.

This will be the final iteration of the character in the franchise, as Ford has discussed how he wanted to come back and see off Indy’s career right, and as a result, this will be his last time playing the character. There is fan speculation that his co-star, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who plays Indy’s goddaughter, could take over the role.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny debuts in theaters on June 30th.
