The Top 5 Moments From The ‘Indiana Jones’ Franchise
The Indiana Jones franchise has officially come to an end. Harrison Ford has said that his last time playing the famous archeologist, Dr. Indiana Jones, would be for Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny. The movie has been out for a few weeks now and was the perfect send-off for such a beloved character. Indiana Jones had an interesting life. He went on many different adventures, met lots of different people, and had a few too many encounters with Nazis. Since the franchise has now ended, let's take a look at some of the best moments from the movies.
5. Gun To A Knife Fight
Raiders Of The Lost Ark probably has the most iconic moments out of all the movies. One of these happens pretty early on. Indy finds himself in a fight with a swordsman. The locals have also surrounded the two of them to watch the battle ensue. However, it’s ended pretty quickly once Indy takes out his gun and shoots the swordsman before he even has a chance to attack. It’s an iconic scene and one that perfectly showcases Indiana Jones’s character.

4. The Boulder Introduction
This is one of the most iconic moments in the entire franchise. It’s also one of the coolest ways to introduce a protagonist. Indiana is on a mission to find a relic. When he comes across it, he grabs the item and quickly replaces it with a bag of sand. This does not work, and Indy is now running for his life, thanks to the giant rolling boulder behind him. We see him having to dodge the various cave traps and obstacles, all while running for his life. This was one of those moments where you know the main character is going to be iconic, and he was.
3. Leaving The Holy Grail Behind
The Last Crusade gives us many great moments. We get to see a young Indy and learn why he is afraid of snakes, and we also get to see him go on an adventure with his father, who is played by Sean Connery. They are in search of the highly sought-after Holy Grail. After a long journey and many fights, Indy finally makes it to where the Grail is. He has a moment where he can save it once again before it’s lost forever, but it may cost him his life. One of the best moments in the franchise is his father telling him to “let it go.” It’s a wonderful father-and-son moment and also reminds Indy of who he is and that some things aren’t worth dying for.
2. The Bridge Scene
Temple Of Doom is the film that most people put near the bottom of their list. It has its moments, of course, like when we first get to meet Short Round and him becoming an essential part of the movie's story. However, there is one scene in the second movie that tops all the others in it, and that is the bridge scene. Indy, Short Round, and Willie are on the run from the Thugee cultists after escaping. They come to a bridge, where Willie and Short round have crossed, but Indy is stuck in the middle with the cultists on both sides and the leader inching closer. He then decides to cut the bridge. This ends up being one of the coolest moments of the film and gives it that Indiana Jones feel.
1. Indy Fighting Nazis
Indiana Jones fights a lot of Nazis in the movies. Nazis, being the villains that they are, always want what Indiana Jones finds for themselves. They want it so they can have the world they want, which, as we all know, is not an ideal world. Indiana Jones fighting Nazis is always very satisfying, especially when you know he is going to win. It’s also nice to see the Nazis meet their demise, and while there are a lot of great moments of that happening, it's better to lump them all together because, at the end of the day, they’re all Nazis. However, the face-melting scene in Raiders Of The Lost Ark is one of the best.
The Indiana Jones franchise is filled with iconic moments. Indiana Jones had an interesting career that brought him to many different places and in front of many different enemies. At the end of the day, he always comes out on top, even if that means leaving a relic behind.
