Everything We Know About 'Rush Hour 4' According To Jackie Chan

While attending the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, Jackie Chan let slip details about the long-awaited fourth installment of the popular Rush Hour franchise. This isn’t the first time that Chan has teased another movie.

In 2019, he posed with Chris Tucker in a selfie holding up four fingers suggesting that the film was on its way. Three years later, we’re still waiting, but the latest attempt to get Rush Hour 4 off the ground seems to have a little more credence.

Here’s what we know so far.

RELATED:

The film has a director, but Chan was being tight-lipped over who that may be, but he did hint that he was meeting with them that very evening, so it is possible the director attended the same film festival. Brett Rayner worked on the previous films but with #Metoo allegations hanging over his head, producer Arthur Sarkissian has confirmed that he will not be returning for Rush Hour 4. Sarkissian is familiar with the franchise and produced the other 3 movies so fans will be glad that he is back at the helm.

Back in 2019, it was rumored that production company STX Studios were trying to recruit Li Bingbing for a female-led remake. There’s no word if it is this script that is making its way into production, however, in Chan’s interview at RSSIF, he did confirm that the film has been written.

Strangely, the only casting announcement we have is for boxer Mike Tyson, confirmed by Jackie Chan, but we have no news as to whether Chris Tucker has signed on, but he’s spoken positively about another sequel in the past. It’s hard to see them making a Rush Hour movie without both of its famous co-stars.
