'Elemental' On Its Way To Breaking Disney Box-Office Record
With recent difficulties in the film industry, this came as a surprise. Once again, Pixar shows everything is possible with the power of love and a bit of elemental guidance. Elemental has surpassed the $250M mark, overtaking Lightyear, and it is expected to become Disney’s highest-grossing film since Frozen 2.
The movie follows the story of Ember, a firewoman, and Wade, a water man. Together they learn that all four of the elements (air, earth, water, and fire) in the city have more in common than what they were led to believe. Despite the comments, the critics, and the skeptics, Pixar trusted the process and its formula. Alongside a classic love story, the team brought to life a truly amazing piece, with beautiful visuals and funny moments.
However, Elemental is still far from being considered successful. The budget for the movie was $200M and they barely recovered the investment with this milestone. Though this is one of the most successful Disney-Pixar movies of the last few years, it seems a bit complicated that it will become an outstanding success, traditionally speaking.
As it is widely known, movies must make three times their budget to be considered successful. Few movies have accomplished this recently. The following weeks are crucial for Elemental in getting the record, maybe for the whole movie industry.
