Dragon Con Raised More Than $210,000 For The Arthritis Foundation Georgia Chapter
Dragon Con celebrated 38 years of fandom in Atlanta, Georgia, from August 29 to September 2, 2024. This year, 72,000 attendees came to the massive pop culture and gaming convention from all fifty states and six continents. The weekend featured 32 tracks of around-the-clock entertainment spread out over five days. CultureSlate captured all of the excitement throughout the Dragon Con weekend, including panels with Harry Potter, Star Trek, and Star Wars guests and an exclusive interview with Dr. Erin Macdonald.
Dragon Con's impact extends far beyond entertainment, as they put it, “With great power comes great responsibility.” Over the last 10 years, over $1.3 million has been raised for various charities thanks to the convention. There have been auctions, merchandise percentage sales, special events like bingo, and matching dollar for dollar (up to an additional $125,000). For 2024, Dragon Con partnered with the Arthritis Foundation and raised over $210,000 for the charity. The Arthritis Foundation has been helping people take control of their arthritis and supporting arthritis treatments for over 75 years.
