From name changes to stunning and exciting visual teasers, Agatha All Along has kept in the news a fair bit.  Recently, the series had a decent presence at the latest D23, Disney’s fan-focused event.  Tidbits from the news-packed D23 are still coming out.  In an interview with IGN during the event, several cast and crew members spoke about the show, some discussing its impact on the overall MCU.

Executive producer Mary Livanos discussed some of the story and what its potential holds for the MCU as a whole, “I would say, first and foremost, that Agatha All Along is an incredible story in and of itself. It's all about Agatha and we get to learn more about her and I think folks will really love her journey. But what I can also say is that there are ramifications for the larger MCU.”  The show is not only a part of the Multiverse Saga and delves into portal world concepts, but it introduces characters with powerful potential as well.  Livanos continued, “However, we also introduced an entirely new slate of coven members who are brand new to the MCU.”

A concern many have when it comes to shows such as these is that you need a large amount of context going in; Agatha All Along in particular picks up sometime after WandaVision.  The executive producer addressed this concern from the fan and the casual viewer perspectives, “If you don't know much about Marvel, you can drop in and enjoy this completely original story. But if you're a fan of WandaVision and the MCU, I will say there is a ton paid off in this series.”

Agatha All Along hits Disney+ on September 18, 2024, with a two-episode premiere.  The series is set sometime after WandaVision.  Agatha escapes her trap with the aid of a teenager and forms a coven, intent on facing the Witches’ Road and overcoming it; the Road will return to a witch what they’re missing and Agatha desires the return of her powers.  If you need a refresher on where the character is before the series comes out, WandaVision can be streamed on Disney+.
