Dubbed by the media as the “King of Hallyu Wave,” the doc will also offer new insights into the modern K-pop industry. After the creation of the group in 2005, Super Junior has gone on to win numerous accolades and was the best-selling K-pop artist over several years, starting with 2009’s Sorry, Sorry. In 2015, the music video for their 2011 hit “Mr. Simple,” reached 100 million views, making Super Junior the first SM boy group to reach the milestone.

First announced on November 30th, Super Junior: The Last Man Standing, will join fellow K-pop group BTS, who also have their Disney+ original, BTS: Permission to Dance on the streaming platform. The announcement also included several Korean originals, Soundtrack #2 and Call It Love, and the Webtoon adaptation of Moving.

Watch Super Junior: The Last Man Standing on Disney+ on January 18th.
