It’s been a few months since the fourth season of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys ended, and there’s already news about the next! According to Entertainment Weekly, Daveed Diggs has been added to the cast list for a currently-unspecified role. Diggs has portrayed a multitude of roles, including the voice of Sebastian in The Little Mermaid (2023), Jamdolin in Fraggle Rock: Return to the Rock, Mr. Browne in Wonder (2017), the voice of Theo in Invincible, a member of the Noodle family in Sesame Street, and Andre Layton in Snowpiercer, among many others. The actor has variety, so this secret role could be anything.

Season four of The Boys ended with quite a bang; part of the original goal of the characters this season was completed, but it didn’t go the way they imagined. Neuman is no more, but Singer is removed from power. Homelander is deputized, and his troops capture a fair few of The Boys while Butcher goes off alone with the virus. The current state of Soldier Boy is confirmed. The next season is thoroughly set up for an enticing end to the story.

A specific release date hasn’t been named for the final season of The Boys, but a window of 2026 is likely. The plot is being kept under wraps as it is developed. All previous seasons of the series are available to stream on Prime Video.  If that doesn’t quench your desire for content, there are a few spinoffs to look out for. Gen V is set on a college campus and focuses on the first students to know exactly where their powers came from as they compete to dominate their peers; the second season is expected to come out in 2025. A new series called Vought Rising is also in development. Serving as an origin story of sorts, it will follow Soldier Boy and Clara Vought, who later becomes Stormfront, in the 1950s; a release window has yet to be announced.
