As the disease is already in his family, Hemsworth has faced it before. Within Limitless, the actor also confronts death in the finale by meeting with death doulas. All of these experiences were a wake-up call to Hemsworth in a way. He said, “It really triggered something in me to want to take some time off… since we finished the show, I’ve been completing the things I was already contracted to do.” Hemsworth will be taking time to just be with his wife and kids.

When discussing health in the public eye, words can get twisted and put in the speaker’s mouth. Hemsworth lays it out straight though, acknowledging this by stating:
“Look, if this is a motivator for people to take better care of themselves and also understand that there are steps you can take—then fantastic. My concern was I just didn’t want to manipulate it and overdramatize it, and make it into some sort of hokey grab at empathy or whatever for entertainment.”
This doesn’t guarantee the end of the actor’s career, Hemsworth has said “it’s not like I’ve been handed my resignation.” His decision and privacy should be treated with respect as always.
