Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine are smashing it at the box office, and fans love the film's surprise cameos! The biggest thrill so far? Chris Evans is reprising his role as Johnny Storm, AKA The Human Torch, from the 2005 Fantastic Four movie by 20th Century Fox.

Curious how this epic cameo came to be? Chris Evans spilled the beans in an interview with Variety: “It was a couple years ago, and I got a text from Ryan; we’re buddies,” Evans revealed. “He just said, ‘Listen, if you don’t like this idea, no worries whatsoever. But I have something that could really bring the house down and would let you play a character from your past.'”

Evans, who had teamed up with Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds for the 2021 action comedy Free Guy, was all in for another adventure in the MCU.

Returning to the MCU, but this time not as the beloved Steve Rogers (Captain America), but donning the iconic suit of Marvel's First Family, was a delightful shocker. Fans were especially intrigued by the kind of adult dialogue Evans got to deliver. Ever the prankster, Ryan Reynolds offered cue cards, but Evans was up for the challenge.

“Ryan was like, ‘Listen, if we need cue cards…’ and I was like, ‘Cue cards? I’m showing up off-book,'” Evans shared. “I don’t get to say dialogue like this. Trust me. I’m going to enjoy every second of this. Memorized.”

With Chris Evans back in action, the excitement is real, and fans can't wait to see what other surprises Marvel has in store!

Deadpool & Wolverine is playing in theatres worldwide.
