'Assassin's Creed: Black Flag' Looks To Be Releasing Sooner Than Expected
Ubisoft is in some hot water lately, it seems, given the poor sales of Star Wars: Outlaws, the result of that being, supposedly, a cause for the Assassin’s Creed: Shadows delay, and now word has come that Ubisoft is considering selling in order to go private.
Despite all that, there is apparently a roadmap for the next five years concerning Assassin’s Creed games, and part of that roadmap is the remake of one of the most popular of the franchise: Black Flag. Insider Gaming claims to have been shown and given documents suggesting it could be coming sooner than anticipated.
According to the documents that Insider Gaming received, Black Flag was originally scheduled to apparently come out in November of 2025. I say originally because this was before the Shadows news and the company's potential sale. There is no word on whether the Black Flag remake is affected by this, but internal emails at Ubisoft suggest the rest of the Assassin’s Creed roadmap is affected by the delay.

Black Flag is frequently chosen among the top favorites by fans of the franchise, next to Assassin’s Creed 2, and was apparently the inspiration for the recently released pirate-themed game that took a long time to release, Skull and Bones. In the materials given to Insider Gaming, there were supposedly some shots of Edward Kenway, the protagonist, sailing a ship.
