All Unionized QA Testers For 'Dragon Age: Dreadwolf' Were Laid Off Last Week

As the WGA strike has ended, Hollywood writers have plenty of work to do. However, the same can’t be set about video game workers.

All 13 QA workers for BioWare Edmonton have been laid off, as was confirmed by Liz Korless; “We can confirm that regrettably, the 13 Edmonton-based staff have now left the business following the end of a fixed term client contract.” The most recent work the workers engage in is helping with Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

According to James Russwurm, a former Keywords QA tester, Keywords Studios has “taken the position there is no more work available.” Russwurm and other employees were laid off on September 27th. Russwurm also stated that Keywords Studios offered “minimum severance”.

Several BioWare employees who were laid off are doing likewise. The issues with the two companies and their layoffs are not connected, despite both having ties with Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.
